The Background

Designing solutions for the daily data analyst experience

Mode is a modern BI platform designed to unite data and business teams to drive business outcomes.

In June 2023, ThoughtSpot, an AI-powered analytics tool, acquired Mode, aiming to enhance data accessibility, analysis, and insights for businesses across various industries.

During my two years with Mode, I participated in various UX design projects focused on developing features for data analysts and initiatives supporting user growth throughout the platform.

Takeaways and reflections

Learning the importance of adaptability in design…

During my time at Mode, I got to refine my skills in designing user-friendly enterprise software solutions while delving into new areas like data analysis and generative AI.

Being the nature of a startup, I also navigated the company's rebranding as a product designer, collaborated closely within product teams, and witnessed the acquisition process, which taught me the importance of adaptability in design and how to thrive amidst constant change, ensuring user-centric solutions at every turn.

Overall, my experience at Mode has been a huge part of my journey of growth in UX and product design which I will always be grateful for.
